Ply-Foil Thermal Insulation

Ply-Foil is a multi layer, reflective insulation. Ply-Foil is available in variable size rolls and is perfect for both specialty and standard construction projects. Two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97% of the radiant heat. Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. The inner layers of bubble-pack resist conductive heat flow while a center layer of polyethylene gives Ply-foil additional strength.

Ply-foil provides nominal 3/16" thick Single Bubble, nominal 5/16" thick Double Bubble, Standard Edge and Staple Tab product lines for both Metal and Post Frame Construction. Ply-Foil reflective insulation is a perfectly suited building component for new commercial construction projects or retrofit application.

Single Bubble PFS Reflective Insulation

Single bubble reflective insulation from Plyco Corporation facilitates the transfer of heat efficiently, appropriate for walls and roofs of post frame buildings.

Single Bubble PWS Bubble Insulation

PWS bubble foil from Plyco Corporation features one side white and one side foil for thermal transfer and light reflection tailored to your specific post frame building.

Double Bubble PFD Bubble Foil Insulation

PFD double sided bubble foil reflective insulation from Plyco makes your post frame building as energy efficient as possible. Double bubble PFD comes in rolls consisting of custom widths and lengths for specialty and standard construction projects.

Double Bubble PWD Reflective Insulation

Reflective insulation produced by Plyco reflects 96% of radiant energy, making post frame buildings incredibly effective at reflecting heat away and keeping the interior cool.

Concrete Slab Insulation

Concrete slab insulation is designed for use under concrete slabs, with snow melt applications and radiant floor systems.

How Radiant Barrier Insulation Works

Radiant energy, the major source of heat flow, is energy in the form of infrared waves. It travels at the speed of light until it comes into contact with a surface. From there it has three options. It can be transmitted through the material, absorbed into it or reflected back. Air, water, and glass, for example, transmit visible light in varying degrees. A white surface, such as snow, reflects it; and a black surface absorbs it. Infrared waves work in the same way as visible light; heat is generated when its energy is absorbed. Common insulation products, like most building materials, tend to absorb a large percentage of the radiant energy they encounter as heat. However, tests have shown that one sheet of aluminum in the center of an airspace reflects 97% of radiant heat. This means heat rays pass through it at a rate of only 3%. Properly installed Ply-foil radiant barrier insulation takes full advantage of this property by using two or more such surfaces separated by encapsulated air.

PLY-FOIL comes in large, light weight, easy to handle rolls that will not blow away or break up in the wind. Installers will like working with the product because there are no fibers to cause skin itch or make breathing difficult. Ply-foil, properly installed and taped, provides an excellent vapor barrier, assists in limiting condensation and features the top classification of burn and flame spread ratings. It will not absorb water if left outside at the job site or if it is left partially uncovered during installation. Ply-Foil typically will not mildew or allow fungus growth and it is resistant to mice, birds, and insects. Ply-foil's reflective foil insulting material will add energy efficiency to your property, reducing your utility bill.
