    Additional Information:

    • Clean work environment with light assembly work.
    • Training is provided, general work experience preferred.
    • Full-Time hours: Mon-Thurs 5:00am - 2:30pm and Friday 5:00am - 9:00am
    • Part-time hours can be flexible, primarily 7:30am - Noon or Noon - 4:30pm
    • Great part-time opportunity for retired person looking for some extra income.

Design Engineer

    For over 60 years, Plyco Corporation has been a leading manufacturer and supplier of products to the post frame, metal clad building and commercial construction industries.  Plyco is based in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin and is seeking a positive and professional Design Engineer. 

    This position will provide creative engineering solutions to existing and new products. While also, contributing to the success and profitability of the business with innovative design solutions that consistently meet or exceed customer and market expectations.

    Job Duties:

    • Analyze product offering as to manufacturing and material costs and develop designs that can be produced economically to maintain or improve the company's competitive position and profitability.
    • Act as technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales, assisting in addressing and resolving questions and problems.
    • Collaborate throughout the organization to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and ensure the continuous on-going improvement of processes and methods.
    • Use CAD systems to layout, design and modify existing drawings and the creation of new drawings.
    • Perform engineering calculations on new and existing designs.
    • Creates designs within pre-defined schedule and cost targets and supports implementation in production.
    • Advise management on a regular basis as to the status of the design projects.
    • Creates and maintains bill of materials, instruction sheets and writes engineering change orders.
    • Interface with others during the design, building and production, to include engineering calculations, testing, sourcing, planning, suppliers or customers.
    • Ability to provide customers and sales people with quotes considering technical and engineering requirements as well as project needs.
    • Develops customer service, salesmen and production staff by providing technical information and training.
    • Maintain product performance certification programs, quality assurance documents, and inspection documents
    • Presentation and demonstration of existing and new products to new hires, inside/outside sales and customers as well as tradeshow attendees.

     

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Related Field (5 years’ experience in the construction field)
    • Extensive Post Frame and Pre-Engineered Building knowledge preferred
    • Strong Analytical Skills
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across varying levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors
    • Experience with troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with Auto CAD 3D, Excel, Word, Office, Etc.
    • Manufacturing experience preferred(Entry Doors, Windows, Fasteners, Ventilation)
    • Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity

    What will you do:

    • Provide customer service through phone, email, and faxed in orders.
    • Input orders and quotes in the system and manage customer inquiries for various products offered.
    • Communicate with Outside sales, Manufacturing, Accounting, Purchasing, and etc. to satisfy customer needs and concerns in a timely manner.
    • Keep up to date with product offering and product changes.
    • Member of a multi person call center answering sales calls and customer inquiries

    Experience:

    • Minimum of two years’ experience of inside sales taking customer orders is preferred.
    • Provide attention to detail in performance of duties as required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Proficient in MS Office, ERP system, excel spreadsheets, SBT/CSI helpful.
    • Work professionally with customers and fellow company employees.
    • Building Material Supply experience is preferred; however, training will be provided.

    What will you do:

    · Plan, schedule, direct and execute production activities

    · Work with Customer Service Department to determine lead times and plant capacity

    · Manage inventory levels and plan purchase orders to ensure adequate inventory

    · Maintain vendor relationships and expedite PO’s for on time deliveries

    · Develop cost-effective measurements to achieve exceptional business practices

    · Negotiate best pricing and terms for cost reduction and resolve discrepancies as needed

    · Review current requisitions and open PO’s and update production departments

    · Adapt to changes in the market and respond to customer demands

    · Comply with all safety guidelines and OSHA regulations and maintain adequate PPE

    Experience:

    · 3-5 years prior experience working as a production coordinator in the industry preferred

    · Working knowledge of technical software that is specific to the industry

    · Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency and ERP Systems knowledge

    · Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    · Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

    · High regard for quality assurance

    · Strong organizational and time-management skills
